About Me

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor in Leicester Centre, and a registered member with the BACP.

My Integrative, Relational approach means that I use a wide range of therapeutic modalities according to what you need, helping you to integrate self-awareness with different ways of coping with distress and feeling afraid.

My philosophy of who you are as a person, and how that forms, is based on your relationships throughout your life, through early development to the present, and the environment around you. As a trauma-informed therapist, I am curious about what has happened to you, and have an awareness of how that changes you; impacting on relationships and your sense of safety.

By exploring how you and I relate together in therapy, I aim to help you find different, and more helpful ways of relating to others in your life, facilitating an understanding of you, through empowerment, and a safe, trusting, therapeutic relationship.
I have a wealth of experience working with people and helping them to resolve their problems.
My background means that I understand well the pressures of the corporate workplace.

In a counselling setting I have experience of a range of presenting issues.
I have particular experience working long term with complex trauma and PTSD, including domestic and sexual violence, and abuse.

I undertake Continual Professional Development which is part of the requirement to practice counselling and enhance my practice, and I adhere to the BACP code of ethics. I also work at the Leicester Centre for Psychodynamic Counselling as a contracted counsellor, and counselling tutor.
My training and qualifications are:

Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling, University of Leicester

BA (Hons) Applied Social Science, University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.

Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

I am currently studying MA Trauma Informed Practice at Nottingham University.
